Hi there, and welcome to the blog recording the adventures of Bill Oyler & David Haase as they bike across the country. Kathryn Haase here (David's wife) - I've volunteered to be the official narrator of their trip. As cell phone coverage permits, David and Bill will check in with me daily, and I'll post an update about their progress.
The plan is as follows: This is the first of three phases in a trip across the United States of America. On Tuesday July 1, they will be flying one way to Seattle, Washington. Their bikes will be boxed up and checked in with the luggage. After arriving in Seattle, they will take a shuttle to Anacortes, WA, where they will assemble their bikes and start their adventures with their back tires in the ocean! The master plan for the three phases of their trip across the country is as follows:
Phase 1:
- Anacortes, WA to Minot, ND
- 1,500 miles
- July 1-13, 2008
Phase 2:
- Minot, ND to Muscatine, IA (Quad Cities)
- 1,100 miles
- Summer 2009
Phase 3:
- Muscatine, IA to Bar Harbor, Maine
- 1,600 miles+
- Summer 2010
